Want to create an itinerary from this post?
Boston is a special place, for all sorts of reasons.
But what’s the city like right now? And what’s happening in it? There’s a new way to help you find out.
Allow us to introduce #PulseofBoston, a real-time glimpse into what Boston looks like from sunrise to sunset and beyond, as seen and lived by the city’s Instagram community.
Here’s what the #PulseofBoston looks like from 4 – 5 p.m.
To bring it all together, we’ve created snazzy website that allows you to select a time of day and then view an in-the-moment collection of photos from Instagram representing that hour in time across the city — a kind of virtual day in Boston, as well as a new way to keep tabs on what’s going on.
For starters, we sent three local Instagrammers out to different parts of the city to capture their experiences. Here’s what they saw:
What can you show us with #PulseofBoston?
Sox games at Fenway. Duck boat tours on the Charles. Brunch with your besties. Even Keytar Bear playing in the subway. Especially Keytar Bear playing in the subway!
To send your best scenes our way, just tag #PulseOfBoston when you snap a photo or take a video of Boston on Instagram.
If you’re sharing a #latergram photo, also include the approximate time of day when the photo was taken, just so that we can accurately display your photo on our site.
Need a little inspiration? Here’s a look at a few of the first scenes shared on #PulseOfBoston so far:

Just a casually epic dance-off at Downtown Crossing T station by @hellonatashao on Instagram
The bounty of B&G Oysters by @slewis1226
Go out, ‘gram well and tag #PulseOfBoston as you do, Boston.
