What’s the coolest bar in Boston? Literally speaking, let us introduce you to Boston’s Frost Ice Bar, New England’s only, and the world’s largest permanent indoor ice bar!

First and foremost, while it probably sounds counterintuitive, winter might actually be the best time to chill out at Frost. The bar is kept at a brisk 21° year round, and although gloves and a parka cape are provided, boots are strongly suggested, as are extra layers.

Once you’re appropriately bundled up, it’s time to head into the bar, a truly unique establishment. Everything is made of ice, from the walls to the furniture to the bar. You’ll never have to worry about your drink getting warm, either; the glasses are made of ice, too.

Inside the bar, there are a number of different local-themed libations that can keep you warm. The Old North Ender nods towards the historic nearby neighborhood, while the 1912 honors America’s Most Beloved Ballpark and The Silversmith pays tribute to a notable Bostonian who once took a very famous horseback ride through town.

To explore Frost, you will need a ticket to get in and those come in two varieties: peak hours and off-peak hours.

Peak admission time runs Sunday through Friday from 5 p.m. to closing time and on Saturday from 12 p.m. to close. Off-peak hours are Sunday through Friday from 12 to 4:45 p.m., and family friendly hours run from 12 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. each day.

Those interested in skipping lines might also consider buying a drink along with their ticket, which will cut down on wait time inside the bar. For a more expansive look around the premises, just click here.

Folks making the trip into Faneuil Hall will be glad to know that there are several different ways to get there via public transportation. For directions to the bar if you’re planning to drive in, click here.

In the mean time, you can visit the Frost Ice Bar on Facebook and Twitter!
