Massachusetts is home to some of the country’s best craft beer, boasting more than 50 brewers, and it just so happens that there’s an event that brings a number of these breweries together for a fun, summertime celebration: The Fourth Annual Mass Brewers Fest!
Mass Brewers Fest, which is organized by the Massachusetts Brewers Guild, will take place on Friday, August 30, from 6 – 9:30 p.m. at The World Trade Center Headhouse Concourse along the Boston waterfront.
So, what can you expect to experience at the Brewers Fest? Here’s a look at the highlights from 2011:

This year’s festival will bring together more than 2,000 Massachusetts brewery owners, representatives and beer aficionados, who will have the chance to sample more than 80 styles of local beer.
Beers will be provided by more than 30 local breweries, all of which are members of the Mass Brewers Guild, and hail from all over the state. You can find a full list of participating breweries here.
This year’s festival will also have a little something extra to set it apart from years past: a collaboration brew! Before the festival, all of the Guild members convened at Mayflower Brewing Company to create a cask English mild, a combined effort.

The new beer will be revealed at this year’s Guild Fest, but with a special twist. Before the festival, each brewery will have the opportunity to take the new collective creation home; there they will each add their own touch — a favorite hop, a unique ingredient, special aging, etc.— to infuse a custom spin. And each brewery’s cask will be available for tasting at the festival.
Beer won’t be the only attraction you’ll enjoy at the festival. Three Day Threshold, a Boston-based band that blends rock and country influences, will be on hand to provide live entertainment. Food will be available for purchase as well.
The festival is scheduled to take place rain or shine, and admission is 21+ for the event. To purchase tickets, click here. For directions to the venue, click here.
