Zoar Outdoor, New England’s leader in outdoor adventures, is set to kick off another unforgettable season of zip lining and whitewater rafting just off of the Mohawk Trail in Western, MA along with a few additional spots across the state — making it this month’s MassFinds “Find of the Month!”
Having official celebrated opening day on April 1st with zip line canopy tours, opening weekend for the whitewater rafting season in Massachusetts starts on April 6th & 7th, and the good folks at Zoar Outdoor are currently offering a few spring-only rafting adventures.
Two hours west of Boston, Zoar will host rafting trips along Millers River through April 15th; perfect for those seeking the thrill of high-volume rafting, and ideal for rafters ages 12 and up. More information on Millers River can be found here, and for trip dates and pricing, click here.
Just 30-minutes north of Boston, from April 6th through May 19th, Zoar will also be featuring a rafting adventure along the Concord River for rafters ages 14 and up. Additional trip details, and booking information can be found here — one person rafts free for every 12 paying guests!
And on April 15th, rafts will take to the Deerfield River with a series of whitewater trips ranging from beginner to advanced.
“Whitewater rafting is a lot of fun; zip lining is a lot of fun, but the big thing that people come here for is the connection to each other – you come with a bunch of friends or your family,” Zoar Outdoors’s Bruce Lessels explains. “The shared experience is what it’s all about.”
Last season, we caught up with a group of students from UMASS Amherst as they embarked on both Zoar’s canopy tour and whitewater rafting adventure – check it out:
Additionally, this season, Zoar Outdoor will be offering stand up paddleboarding (SUPing) classes — a sport that’s quickly becoming very popular across the country.
